Speech and Language Therapist

Kia ora, I am Michelle, a Speech and Language Therapist based in Ōtautahi. I grew up in various spots around New Zealand and after spending time in Australia as an adult have been Christchurch based for the last 16 years. My speechy background has involved a brief stint in a hospital setting, special school, deaf education and early intervention. Following this I found my area of passion, working with autistic people and their support teams utilizing a holistic, strengths-based approach. I love that communication is such a rich process and contains more than the spoken word. I believe all behaviour communicates and I am passionate about supporting each person I work with in reaching their individual potential within this.

Outside of work, I love spending time with my beautiful family, husband, two teenage daughters and primary school aged son. We love being outdoors, whether this be playing backyard games and bbqing, tramping, exploring our beautiful country or overseas adventures.
